CHANGES TO DORKING OUTPATIENTS DEPARTMENT

Dorking Hospital Outpatients Department was run by Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust until June 2005. From then, the responsibility for the running of the department has been transferred to the East Elmbridge and Mid Surrey Primary Care Trust (PCT). The PCT, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust and Dorking Healthcare have worked together to arrange this change and to plan for the development of services in the department.

The PCT will act as landlords for the department and will rent space out to NHS and private organisations that want to provide services in Dorking. It is expected that these will include the PCT itself, Dorking Healthcare, Surrey & Surrey Healthcare NHS Trust and Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust. This change should not affect patients in any way, other than to increase the availability of local services.
